Once you have decided to join us you will start to work your way through the BSAC training courses to ensure that you are safe to dive.

Ocean Diver - 7 classroom lessons, 5 pool lessons; followed by 5 open water lessons - usually in a quarry.  A minimum of 4 different dive conditions must be completed before you qualify, (they may be part of the above 5 open water lessons).  Oh, nearly forgot!  The theory exam also has to be passed, (its not to bad, the instructors prepare you well).  Max depth - 20m

Sports Diver - 6 classroom lessons,  5 open water lessons, (preceded by pool training 1st).  Also a minimum of 5 open water dives in different conditions.  Oops, forgot the exam again! Max depth 35m completed in 5m progressions from 20m.

All training is under the supervision of a qualified instructor, ratio of 2 students : 1 instructor.

From here some progress to Dive Leader, then Advanced diver...
